In approximately one hour, Christina Aguilera's first music video since the disastrous "Keeps Getting Better" will be released, at 12:01 AM.

Let me preface this by saying that I am a HUGE fan of Miss Aguilera. I have bought every single one of her albums, and I've been following her career since the beginning. She's an incredibly talented woman, and we all know this. Her vocal ability is undeniable, she's beautiful, and she is already incredibly famous. No matter what she puts out, people ARE going to pay attention.

This is why I do not understand the way she is blatantly copying Lady Gaga in her new music video. See left, she wears the exact (EXACT!!) same dress that Gaga has been seen wearing, she has pink highlights in her hair, she's wearing the same tights, and the same black pumps.

Christina has addressed the comparison before, and she's made it evident she doesn't want it to be said that she's copying Lady Gaga, so why would she so blatantly copy her by wearing the exact same outfit that Gaga has been seen wearing? Was her stylist playing a cruel joke on her or something? There has to be some explanation for this.

What's Missing in iPhone 4.0?

On Thursday, April 8th, 2010, Apple announced and previewed iPhone OS 4.0. However, there were a few things missing that the iPhone community really wanted to be addressed. Although we got an excellent implementation of multi-tasking, which I believe--although it lacks the visual flair of WebOS-style multi-tasking--is the best solution on a mobile platform at this time, push notifications were not addressed.

The big problem with the current implementation of Push Notifications in iPhone OS 3.x, is that they are too intrusive, and too modal. You can only view one at a time, so if you were to receive three in a row, you'll only know about the most recent one.

I've developed a visual representation of what I believe would be the best solution, given the new UI elements Apple has just introduced and the problems we are facing.

(You'll may also notice that the Clock and Weather are live icons that display current information, and the dock has been flattened and supports 5 icons, or more if scrollable. These are other UI enhancements I would like to see on the iPhone)

Note: I realize that Mail and SMS don't actually send Push Notifications, I was simply using those as examples of applications.

I Have A Confession...

I can no longer hold this in, I can no longer pretend. And I think it's about time that we all stop pretending. I'm just going to rip it off like a band-aid...

I LOVE MILEY CYRUS.

I know! It's not something we're all comfortable enough to say, but come on guys, it's time to admit it. Just watch this interview from Jimmy Kimmel last night below.

I think what really set me off and made me like her much more was that she admitted the reason she really left twitter is because her fans were attacking her for supporting gay marriage. Understandably, she didn't want to disappoint her fans because I think she knows that they are simply ignorant or too young to understand, so she couldn't very well tell them all to fuck off. I respect her decision to leave twitter because of this, although I did enjoy following her!

After I found this out about her, I just felt like she is so awesome for supporting gay rights and equality despite her background and her following. I love Christians who know how to think for themselves, and she is (surprisingly) one of them.

Now look, we all know she's not perfect, Miley has definitely made a few errors in judgement over the last few years. But think about it, she made the awkward transition into a woman in front of everyone. I was the first to say how grossed out I was by those provocative pictures where she shows off her panties, lifting up her shirt, at only 15 years old. But what young girl hasn't taken provocative pictures of herself in this day and age? Very few haven't, trust me.

Cowardice: An Attractive Feature?

It has come to my attention as of late, that cowardice is something that, in the gay community, is admired and attractive. Now hold on, before you say "I don't admire cowards" or "I am not attracted to cowards"... Think about the type of men you are attracted to. If you find yourself being attracted to men who claim to be straight, yet have gay inclinations... If you find yourself attracted to married men (married to WOMEN), who are fathers, yet have gay sexual relationships on the side... If you find yourself attracted to men who are afraid to embrace their femininity (a trait which ALL men do possess to some degree)... Guess what honey, you are attracted to cowards. If you will only date someone who is "straight acting", then either you are attracted to cowards, you are a coward yourself, or both.

This is what I find truly sad about the gay community. We have parades to celebrate our liberty and our new (VERY new!) ability to be ourselves in public, and yet the youth of the community still hates themselves deep inside, whether they have come out or not, and they still are disgusted to be around and just by the prospect of dating someone who embraces their individuality, loves their femininity, and is not afraid to be themselves.

In nature, the male must be the beauty. He flaunts his unique beauty and talents in order to win the heart of his mate. As humans, we have abolished this as a society because of our extreme expectations of beauty for women. In order to be beautiful, a woman must have perfect skin, a size 0 waist, unproportionate weight-to-height ratio, stunning volumous and shiny hair, perfect breasts, and great facial features--WITHOUT makeup and retouching. She also is expected to be unique.

How does this affect gay men? It has (mis)led us to believe that a true man does not care about his appearance, and that he should be effortlessly sexy and look, dress, and act virtually the same as all other men. Look at the heterosexual wedding, it has been said before; the bride looks her best, picks a unique gown, and the groom looks the same as every groom before him.

However, this is only one part of gay mens' attraction to the social "norm"... It also rests in self-loathing. Many gay men go through a period (that some will never come out of) where they simply hate the gay side of themselves. This leads them to find anyone who brings that out in them or portrays that side of them unattractive and unappealing. ESPECIALLY those of us who are proud of ourselves and don't care what other people think, because they are deeply jealous of our love for ourselves.

I know this from personal experience, when I was living with someone who insulted me on a daily basis telling me how disgusting I was because of my sexuality, I did not like feminine gay people. It's obvious why these two things have a connection. I was forced to hate that part of myself, and when I saw other people that could accept it, I was jealous of them, and I hated them because of it. I'm not saying that everyone lives with this proverbial monster, but due to our society, we all have it at some point in our lives.

The ability to feel good about myself is something I now neglect every day, until I meet people who are truly ashamed of themselves and quite obviously do not feel good about their inner self, and then I realize just how important it is and how much I take it for granted.

So, cowardice; attractive? In the gay culture, it's a resounding "YES". This is what I am most ashamed of in our people.

Liberation!

Today I got a new internet connection. It's much faster download speeds and waaaay faster upload speeds. Sooooo satisfactory. I love it. And it costs the same as my old service cost when I got it.

I feel liberated, today uploaded a 600mb video takes only 15 minutes, 2 days ago it took 3 hours.

Yesterday one of the scariest things ever happened to me.

I heard a knock on the door, and I thought it would be a neighbour coming down to complain about my singing, so I opened the door, and it was some weird gross old guy. One of his eyes was completely reddened, and he asked me "Have you seen Lisa around?" and I said "No, sorry, she doesn't live here" and he said "You buy?" and he held out his hand, I look at his hand and there is CRACK in his hand. Or cocaine. Is there a difference? Anyway, it was fucking scary! It wasn't even in a bag like you'd expect, it was just in his bare hand. I called the cops and told them what he was wearing and stuff.. I hope they caught him..

I'm a really straight-edge person, not like I have much against drugs it's just not for me personally, so this was kind of frightening for me. I've never seen any drugs like that in person.

Melodrama

Mourning the loss of one of the greatest fashion designers ever to live: Lee "Alexander" McQueen.

To the left is a photo of one of his final designs, from his last ever show (Spring 2010, Ready-to-wear).

His creations were limitlessly astounding. I've never been wowed so much by any one person in my entire life. I discovered McQueen only recently, when he became Lady GaGa's new obsession, and his fame skyrocketed exponentially. He had been around for a while, but the period of his largest success was truly a flash in the pan.

Watching the video from this show is just plain eerie. It gives me goosebumps. The music, the pale, expressionless, alienesque faces (moreso than usual for this particular theme).

This collection was not in any way "ready-to-wear" for anyone but Lady GaGa herself, but it was one thing, and that is a complete work of art. Hit the source link to view the full collection.
